If some of the fans are running and some are not:<br />

1. Replace the defective fans. If every fan can be started, wait 5<br />

minutes and rerun the test. If the test fails again, proceed to the next<br />

step.<br />

2. Remove all six white 5-pin connectors on the front and back of the<br />

fan assembly. This will cause every fan to run at high speed and the<br />

alarm to be cleared.<br />

S8700-series Fiber-PNC: If the alarm does not clear, a PN’s<br />

Maintenance circuit pack is incorrectly reporting the problem. Check<br />

for and resolve every error against MAINT (PN Maintenance Circuit<br />

Pack), and then rerun the test.<br />

3. One at a time, replace the 5-pin connectors and check to see if the<br />

alarm recurs. Replace each fan whose reconnection causes a<br />

recurrence of the alarm.<br />
