External Device Alarm Query Test (#120)<br />

test has no affect on the external device itself. The test environment command will report<br />

an error against Test #120 if there is a short on one or both of the pairs of leads connecting the<br />

external device. This test runs on the following maintenance objects:<br />

● DC-POWER (Single-Carrier Cabinet Environment)<br />

● EXT-DEV (External Device Alarm)<br />

! CAUTION:<br />

can be generated on adjunct equipment, sent to the <strong>Avaya</strong> system, and<br />

recorded and reported as "external alarms". The adjunct equipment must provide<br />

an isolated contact closure across the alarm leads provided by the <strong>Avaya</strong> system.<br />

The contact must be rated at a minimum of 60 V DC, with a current carrying<br />

capacity of 5 mA minimum.<br />

1000 ABORT Internal system error.<br />

1. Repeat the command at one-minute intervals 1 to 3 times.<br />

1035 ABORT The port network is not available.<br />

1. Enter status port-network to verify that the network is not up.<br />

2. Look for alarms against EXP-PN (Expansion Port Network),<br />

EXP-INTF (Expansion Interface Circuit Pack), PKT-INT (Packet<br />

Interface), etc. and resolve any problems.<br />
