Communication Manager Maintenance Object Repair Procedures<br />

An Auxiliary Trunk circuit pack contains four ports and uses DTMF signaling. A different<br />

hardware interface between the switch and the auxiliary equipment is used for the four types of<br />

signaling that the auxiliary trunk circuit pack supports.<br />

The interface used for the Communication Manager loudspeaker paging consists of the<br />

following three pairs:<br />

● The Tip-Ring (T-R) pair used for voice transmission.<br />

● The S (S-S1) pair that carries answer supervision and/or make busy information.<br />

● The SZ (SZ-SZ1) pair that provides the external equipment with a seizure indication.<br />

The interface used for recorded announcement, dictation, and other loudspeaker paging<br />

consists of the following two pairs:<br />

● The Tip-Ring (T-R) pair used for voice transmission.<br />

● The S (S-S1) pair that carries answer supervision and/or make busy information.<br />

The interface used for Music-On-Hold consists of one pair:<br />

● The Tip-Ring (T-R) pair used for voice transmission.<br />

The interface, used for automatic wake-up using an Audichron recorder/announcer unit,<br />

consists of the following two pairs:<br />

● The Tip-Ring (T-R) pair used for voice transmission.<br />

● The S (S-S1) pair that carries the synchronization signal.<br />
