The Effect of Different Organic Fertilizer on Growth Performance and Yield
Production of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus)

Okra or Abelmoschus esculentus is one of the famous vegetable found in Malaysia.
Demand for okra high due to its multiple uses in cooking. Fertilizer is important to
increase the production of okra, however application of organic fertilizer is very low
compared to inorganic fertilizer even though the price of inorganic fertilizers higher.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of organic fertilizer and inorganic
fertilizer on the growth performance and yield of okra. Organic fertilizers that will be
used in this study are Effective microorganisms, chicken dung, and bokashi while
inorganic fertilizer will be applied is NPK. Parameter will be measured on growth are
plant height, number of leaves and, leaf area. For yield of okra, fresh and dry weight
of fruit will be measured. Purposed on the study, it will be expected that application
of different fertilizer will give different growth performance and yield of okra.
