Contribution of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) To Malaysia Economics

This study is conducted to determine the contribution of Small and Medium Enterprises
(SME) to Malaysia Economics. The data that used in this study is between the years 2001
to 2015, which covers 15 years. From the analysis regression, this study is to evaluate
the relationship and to determine, which factor influences the most changes to the GDP
in Malaysia. The results of this study show that SME growth affects the GDP in Malaysia.
There is a significant relationship between SME growth and GDP compared to the other
independent variable. A very high correlation between SME growth and GDP makes it
clear that this factor is the main source of growth in national income. Therefore, SME
growth has been proven to be the most important component which positively stimulating
economic growth in Malaysia.
