Nutritional Status and Food Security among Methadone Maintenance

A person's nutrition is affected by the availability of food as well as his/her overall health.
The aimed of study is to assess the nutritional status and it is association with food
security status among Methadone Maintenance Therapy patients. A cross-sectional study
will be conducted at six clinic including Kedah and Terengganu with a total of respondents
is 166 using convenience sampling. Inclusion criteria included the MMT patients are aged
>18 years old, who received a treatment for 6 months. The following aspect were
evaluated were nutritional status will be recorded using anthropometry, CD4 and 24-
hours dietary recall and for food security will be determined by using (HFIAS)
questionnaire. Descriptive statistic and non-parametric test were employed (SPSS 20).
Nutritional status of MMT patients will be determined and it is associated with the food
security status are expected to be significant.
