Radon-222 is a cancer-causing radioactive gas. This study shows the results of radon
concentration measurements in daily water used take from household wells. The
measurements were carried out at three sampling sites. Total of 28 samples were
collected during peak hour and non-peak hour from wells or taps. The alpha
spectrometer RAD7 was used to measure radon concentrations that have been
collected. In general, radon in groundwater ranged from 226 Bq m -3 to 10741 Bq m -
3 . Radon concentration during peak and non-peak ours ranged from 921 Bqm -3 to 9680
Bqm -3 and 1130 Bqm -3 to 10,741 Bqm -3 , respectively. This study had showed that the
radon concentrations in Terengganu groundwater are high. More study need to be
carried to determine the radon baseline in this area and also radon pathway in indoor
environment and their risk to human health.
