The silver mantis shrimp lived in the shallow waters of tropical and subtropical areas.
A total of 68 specimens has been collected from Pulau Kambing fish landing port,
Kuala Terengganu for morphological and morphometrics study. Based on the
morphological examined, two species has been identified known as Harpiosquilla
harpax. This species can be distinguished by the number of spine on the back of their
telson. The range of total length and weight was 111.98-177.76 mm and 16.00-62.00
g respectively. 13 morphometrics characteristics has been chosen to measure. Based
on the One-Way ANOVA analysis, the eye length was reported significant while the
others characterises were not significant. This study will be able to provide information
on silver mantis shrimp and contribute as material and sources for a research in the
future.
