Over the year, dengue cases keep increasing. Aedes aegypti and Aedes
albopictus were found closely associated with humans due to their ability to
breed with presence of wet containers. The objectives of this study was to
determine Aedes breeding site characteristics in residential area and to
determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and practise (KAP) towards Aedes
sp. by Maras’s residents. 100 houses involved which 1 respondent per house
was choosen. Breeding sites survey and KAP survey were being conducted
simultaneously. Dipping method was used in breeding sites survey. The
questionnaires consisted of two sections and face-to-face interview section was
conducted. Eight over 42 were positive containers with presence of mosquitoes
larvae and most of the containers were small in size with metal type. Moreover,
there was no correlation occur between KAP and demographic. In conclusion,
the level of KAP was high and specific containers can effect the mosquitoes
population.
