Academic Achievement Factors for High School Students in
Terengganu by Using Structured Equation Modeling

Academics are especially important today because it able to determine the direction of a
person especially among the students. Each student has different academic performance.
Therefore, various factors are taken into account to ensure whether it affects students'
academic performance or not. This study was conducted to identify factors that could
influence the academic performance of the students. To carry out this study, 200
questionnaires have been distributed to three different type of secondary schools in
Terengganu. The students who are selected to answer the questionnaire were composed
of male and female from form five students. This study focuses on five factors that
influence the academic achievement of students - teachers, peers, family, attitudes and
finance. To obtain effective research results, the Structured Equation Modeling (SEM)
method with AMOS and SPSS software. This method is very suitable to get the results of
the study.
