Bats have specifics diets according to their species as some feeds on fruits<br />

which also known as megachiroptera and some on insects known as<br />

microchiroptera. Since there were lacking on study of bats and updated<br />

checklist in Terengganu, therefore this study was conducted to determine the<br />

diversity of bats at different habitat types in Kenyir and Setiu, Terengganu.<br />

Three mist nets were used to capture bats and another three four-bank harp<br />

trap were used mainly to capture insect bats. A total of 61 individuals of bats<br />

were collected and had been identified. All the bats captured had been<br />

compared their diversity by using specific statistical analysis. There were low<br />

diversity of bats in Kenyir compared to Setiu that influence by the area was<br />

surrounding with agricultural activities. In conclusion, number of bats<br />

captured for this study is still lacking based on comparison among most of bat<br />

species in Malaysia.<br />
