National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) plays an important role in providing
financial aid for students to finance their tertiary education in Malaysia. Failure to make
loan repayment becomes a major issue since the funds are needed to finance the study
of future generation. In response to this issue, this study seeks to examine the students’
knowledge, attitudes, and perception towards the PTPTN loan. In addition, this study will
examine whether students’ demographic characteristics such as gender, age, religion,
and socio-economic status, as well as student perceptions of the PTPTN loan are
significant predictors of the likelihood of loan repayment. This study will use selfadministered
questionnaire survey which will be distributed to a sample of 300
undergraduate students at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Data collected will be
analysed using SPSS software. The findings of the study are expected to provide
information to PTPTN management on practical ways to overcome the non-repayment
loan problem.
