Cultivation of Hibiscus by Using Baby Diaper and Food Waste

The baby diapers has been used around since the beginning of human history. Most
of the parents make their choice to use disposable diaper but not cloth diaper because
of disposable diapers are more convenient and effective to use. After used they just
throw diapers away because the diapers cannot been used anymore. Therefore, this
study was conducted to use the disposable diapers as a medium for the hibiscus tissue
culture and to observe the percentage of survival cultured hibiscus at different ratio
of disposing baby diaper and food waste combination. The type of food wastes were
egg shell, banana peel and coffee ground. The media was prepared at different ratio
of baby diapers and food wasted. The ratio was determined based the most suitable
composition for cultivation of hibiscus. However, the percentage of survival cannot be
observed because the media have been contaminated.
