Nutritional Status of Methadone Maintenance Therapy Patients and Its
Association with Physical Activity Level and Diet Diversity

Patients who received treatment in Methadone Maintenance Therapy (MMT) can maintain
their nutritional status and this can be related to their physical activity level and diet
diversity. This study aims to access the nutritional status and its association with physical
activity level and diet diversity among MMT patients. A cross-sectional study will be
conducted at MMT unit in four clinic located at Kedah and Terengganu with a total
respondents 166 using convenience sampling. Inclusion criteria included; MMT patients
who aged >18 years old who received treatment for 6 months. The following aspects
were evaluated: Nutritional Status (Anthropometry, CD4), physical activity (IPAQ) and
diet diversity (Diet Diversity Questionnaire). Descriptive statistics and non-parametric
tests were employed (SPSS 20). Nutritional Status of MMT patients will be determined
and its association with physical activity and diet diversity are expected to be significant.
