The Relationship between Personality Formation and Self-Esteem

The purpose of this study is to identify whether there is a relationship between
personality formation and self-esteem according to the birth order among students of
University Malaysian Terengganu. Personality refers to the individual’s uniqueness that
belong to self. While self-esteem is a positive or negative compliment given to the
self. The sample consists of 200 students from the Center for Social Studies and
Economics were randomly selected to become respondents in this study. The
instruments that will be use in this study are The Big Five Inventory (BFI) which is to
measure personality formation and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) to
measure the level of self-esteem. All the accumulated data will be processed using
SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software.
