In an era of economic globalization ports are emerging rapidly from being traditional<br />

land/sea interfaces to providers of complete logistics networks. However, the port<br />

activities also will give effect to social and environmental. Malaysia-China Kuantan<br />

Industrial Park (MCKIP) is the 1st Malaysia National Industrial Park joint developed by<br />

both Malaysia and China. MCKIP is the sister park of China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial<br />

Park (CMQIP) where both port and industrial park will produce the cooperation and<br />

dynamic stage for the investors to enlarge their business to other regions. However, the<br />

expansion of Kuantan Port Consortium (KPC) will invite many worker to get the job either<br />

local or foreign worker. The problem in this study will focus on the social effect to<br />

immigrant, local activities and education on Kuantan area and collected the data<br />

according to public perception. Hence, the objective of research is to study the effect on<br />

expansion of Kuantan Port Consortium (KPC) in term of social, to identify the public<br />

perception on the effect expansion of Kuantan Port Consortium (KPC) in term of social<br />

and to identify whether expansion of KPC lead to the positive or negative in term of social<br />

according to public perception. A quantitative methodology that integrates primary data<br />

such as questionnaire is used to analyze the public perception on the effect of expansion<br />

of KPC in term of social. The over-all outcome show the nullification of hypothesis that<br />

means the expansion of KPC will give negative effect to social at Kuantan area. Finally,<br />

some suggestions have been proposed to reduce social effect to community who living<br />

around the KPC<br />
