Agaric mushroom is known as spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus that<br />

consists of cap, stalk and gills. There have been various species of Agaric<br />

mushrooms recorded under several papers in Malaysia, but less study on Agaric<br />

mushrooms especially in Terengganu. Therefore, current study was carried out<br />

to identify the types of Agaric mushrooms in Universiti Malaysia Terengganu<br />

(UMT) and to update checklist of Agaric mushrooms in UMT. The study were<br />

conducted in several places in UMT. The Agaric mushrooms were taken for<br />

macroscopic identification and microscopic identification. The results revealed<br />

that 13 species from six families were found. The findings of agaric mushrooms<br />

in this study is an important first step towards producing a checklist of Agaric<br />

mushrooms in UMT. Therefore, future studies on diversity of Agaric mushrooms<br />

should be increased in Terengganu especially in UMT. As a conclusion, Agaric<br />

mushrooms was found abundance with several species recorded.<br />
