The problem of solid waste management in the country is increasingly
serious and uncontrollable. The study area chosen by researchers is in the area of
Kampung Parit Kassim, Parit Jawa, Muar Johor. This study aims to identify the
relationship between the attitude of society and the amount of solid waste in Kampung
Parit Kassim area. In addition, identify the health effects faced by the residents of
Kampung Parit Kassim, due to the management of solid waste. Next, identify the
role of local authorities to address the problem of solid waste management in
Kampung Parit Kassim area. The study was conducted using quantitative
methods and involved 50 respondents in the study area. The findings show that the
attitude of the community has a significant relationship with the role of local
authorities, the attitude of the community has significant relationship with the
management of solid waste and the role of local authorities has a significant
relationship with the management of solid waste. It can be concluded that the attitude
element, the role of the authorities plays an important role in addressing the problem
of solid waste management which will affect the health effects of the population
