The vineyards on Lake Constance belonging
to the Margrave of Baden are
amongst the highest in all of Germany:
formed by ice age glaciers, they reach altitudes
of up to 460m/1509ft. This altitudinal provenance
lends freshness and expressiveness to
these wines, the lake itself boosts their fruit
and elegance. These are wines that want to
convince with their finesse, creaminess and
spice, like for instance the Spätburgunder
from the Bermatinger Leopoldsberg site. Likewise,
the juicy Müller-Thurgau, clear as a bell,
illustrates all the merits of a typical Seewein, or
Lake Constance wine.

On the nose Reine Claude plums with herbs and ripe yellow
apple, also citric notes. Juicy on the palate, texture which is
complemented by spice, the acidity is lively and is again accompanied
by citrus notes, lean and compactly-built. Ideal

Ripe pear and some quince on the nose, blossoms and almonds.
On the palate there is a slender stature, dry and with
fine spice and juice, some citrus fruit, the vivid acidity provides
flow, shows profile and provenance. Pair well with pasta

plums. Slim and filigree in texture, again with fruity
and clear apple notes, precise acidity that strives forward,
