Oh, what a pretty and tenderly-scented
Weissburgunder, you think to
yourself but then, at the very latest by the second
sip, the full force of its depth hits you.
Since this wine is actually available for EUR 7
we cannot help but turn it into a Falstaff-Tip.
Further down the pricelist, with his more expensive
wines, Brenneisen’s wines show even
more minerality and complexity, without ever
diverging from their purist style or gastronomic
vein. Bravo!

Light golden in colour. Scents of apples, large wooden barrel
nuances and iodine tones. Rich and slightly viscous on the
palate, plus a fine but also firm thread of acidity, intensely
mineral on the palate, dense, delicate phenolics, beautiful
fullness. Impressively homogeneous in structure and subtly
spicy on the finish. 14 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Herbal tones and iodine, apple, some wood, nougat. On the
palate, creamy onset, quite generous and supple, but also
with accentuated substance, tense acidity and intense tactile
minerality. Impressive and dense, perfect with food.

Berry and floral, fine wood spice, inter-playful and intense.
On the palate quite round and silky, also powerfully salty,
ripe, persistent acidity - in a refined way both powerful and
fine, then it tapers off into a very fine chalky minerality.

Scents of rosehip, some wood, raspberry, and red berry nuances,
but still young and undeveloped. The tannins are firm
and fine simultaneously, with a vivid and vibrating minerality
showing a fine nerve against a creamy base. Ageing potential!

Nuanced, restrained Pinot fruit, some yeast, very slightly
floral, hay. On the palate much denser and more substantial
than the nose would lead one to expect, minerallyinfluenced,
fresh and full of tension, lively acidity, quite dry.
