At Weingut Mitter-Velten in Hochheim
am Main, run by Martin Mitter, you get
good, classic winemaking craft in the
best sense of the word – and since 2018 all this
comes with an organic certification. The wines
Mitter presented are solid and well-made, you
get what it says on the label: when you read Kabinett
or Spätlese, this is exactly what you get.
His Riesling “Premium No.7”- with its great
consistency and substance stands at the top of
the range, the Riesling Kabinett shows the typically
enjoyable interplay of the genre and comes
with much drinkability, the Spätburgunder
shows spice and body. Convincing!

Profound aromas of passion fruit, peach and sweet apricot.
On the palate juicy, full-bodied with ripe, firm acidity. Displays
power, volume, sweet fruit and also elegance, good texture;
with the fine mineral note setting the tone. Good ageing
potential. 13,5 Vol.-%, screwcap
extract, sweet fruit and plenty of ripe tannin. Generous.

Ripe peach and mango on the powerful nose, also fine floral
spice. Juicy palate with well-judged power and substance.
Classic Spätlese with good volume, ripe acidity and good
length; shows texture and creaminess. 13 Vol.-%, screwcap

Powerful and full-bodied Pinot Blanc, which truly deserves
the title Spätlese. On the nose ripe yellow fruit - mirabelle
plum and yellow apple. On the palate there is good density,
the sweetness is well integrated, the acidity ripe and resounding.

On the nose ripe sweet cherry and smoky, toasty aromas,
some smoked bacon, blood orange and bay leaf. Powerful
structure on the palate, with volume and intense spice, good
89 2019 Hochheim Hölle Riesling Kabinett tr.
Fine yellow fruit on the nose - peach and apricot - also with
floral notes and fine spice. Juicy on the palate with precise
fruit, the discreet sweetness is well supported by the vivid
acidity. Clear Kabinett style, playful and precise, lean in alcohol.
