has a very clear idea of the
genesis and development of his wines:
“Wine, for us is a cultural product which is
made by our hands,” he says. His village and
single-site wines are fermented spontaneously
and sometimes also on their skins. They are
then matured in wood – the tautly-constructed
Rieslings with their mineral foundation
also benefit from this. The precise and elegant
Pinot Noir is deserving of its name, the Riesling
“vom Brummelochsenboden” is our Falstaff
tip. A great debut!

Deep yellow in the glass, apple and citrus fruit, yellow fruit
and flowers and also smoke. Slenderly-built and with a firm
structure on the palate, ripe acidity, juice and texture, delicate
spice and sweetness, a fine layer of phenolics, elegant

Powerful aroma of ripe yellow fruit, mirabelle, apricot and
apple, citrus fruit, smoky notes, yellow flowers. Powerful and
firm on the palate with lively acidity, noticeable residual
sweetness, shows texture and elegance. Gastronomically
versatile. 12,5 Vol.-%. DIAM, €€

Bay leaf on the nose, smoke and toasted aromas with Morello
cherry fruit. On the palate there is a finely-chiselled and
nervous acidity with coherent texture, good balance, precise
expression and cultivated tannins. A lovely example of Pinot

Fine fruit and spice on the nose, peach and apricot, also
some mango. The palate shows a fine interplay of sweetness
and acidity, clear, powerful framework; good draw and
