Johannes Boxheimer of Weingut Boxheimerhof<br />

has a very clear idea of the<br />

genesis and development of his wines:<br />

“Wine, for us is a cultural product which is<br />

made by our hands,” he says. His village and<br />

single-site wines are fermented spontaneously<br />

and sometimes also on their skins. They are<br />

then matured in wood – the tautly-constructed<br />

Rieslings with their mineral foundation<br />

also benefit from this. The precise and elegant<br />

Pinot Noir is deserving of its name, the Riesling<br />

“vom Brummelochsenboden” is our Falstaff<br />

tip. A great debut!<br />

Deep yellow in the glass, apple and citrus fruit, yellow fruit<br />

and flowers and also smoke. Slenderly-built and with a firm<br />

Powerful aroma of ripe yellow fruit, mirabelle, apricot and<br />

apple, citrus fruit, smoky notes, yellow flowers. Powerful and<br />

firm on the palate with lively acidity, noticeable residual<br />

sweetness, shows texture and elegance. Gastronomically<br />

Bay leaf on the nose, smoke and toasted aromas with Morello<br />

cherry fruit. On the palate there is a finely-chiselled and<br />

nervous acidity with coherent texture, good balance, precise<br />

expression and cultivated tannins. A lovely example of Pinot<br />

Fine fruit and spice on the nose, peach and apricot, also<br />

some mango. The palate shows a fine interplay of sweetness<br />

fine mineral polish, juicy, spicy and elegant. A lot of wine<br />
