When Graf Neipperg produces
nobly sweet wines, you can expect
a vintage of the finest order. In
2018, there even was a Beerenauslese of
Muskateller in the range that raised expectations
immediately. These, however, were surpassed:
the Lembergers show the warmth of
that vintage without ever getting hot under the
collar. The Erste Lage Mönchsberg is a little
more opulent and riper, the Ruthe GG shines
with charm and creaminess, its counterpart
from the Schlossberg is crunchily tight and
comes with both virile texture and immense
life expectancy.

Apple and balsamic notes with a hint of spontaneous fermentation
savouriness. Supple approach, quite restrained
and distinguished in the mid-palate, calm and self-contained,
but with very good substance. A long, homogeneous
vivid finish. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Sour cherry, dill, mint, but then also wild blueberry notes
emerge and a whiff of menthol. On the palate, a level of rare
precision, lots of juice, refined but not too soft and also
grainy tannins. Extremely dense and yet unforced, insistently-tactile
minerality. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

An opulent, natural kind of fruit, cherry and damson with a
little cinnamon. Very finely-extracted on the palate, downright
gentle and yet with a dense extract. Mild acidity, creamy
background with a full-fruity finish. Lemberger with a Mediterranean
flair. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Muskateller Beerenauslese
Intense floral scents, rose tea, blade of mace, lots of perfume
and a varietal typicity of passion fruit, lychee, mirabelle
plums and flower meadows. Lots of juice and suppleness on
the palate, good drinking flow, vivid fruit notes and a fine
acidity that is well-integrated. Finely-crafted and balanced.
