The stylistic serenity at Weingut Nägelsförst
is on a steady trajectory. In 2016
the estate was taken over by a family of
Franconian industrialists and ever since, director
Steffen Röll and cellar master Annette Bähr
have been honing their very own wine style.
The estate owns parcels in prime, steep sites
like Neuweierer Mauerberg and Varnhalter
Klosterbergfelsen. The terroir of these sites
finds particular expression in the minerally
and defined Riesling and the Spätburgunders
which are full of tension, benefiting from very
skilful handling of wood. A really strong performance!

Peach on the nose, mint, basil and candied orange peel. Powerfully-composed.
On the palate there is good volume and
extract, the acidity is pointed and carries well, not too sweet,
juicy, texture and with clear mineral definition. Shows style

kitsch, with mineral foundations, the vital acidity provides

Fine wood spice, smoky notes, honeydew melon, flowers,
nuts and herbs. Shows a wide horizon on the palate, texture
and juice, sensitively-integrated wood, the acidity is ripe and
present, good substance, elegant and still not at the end of

Mint on the nose with herbal spice, floral notes, blueberry,
wood spice, some black tea. Powerful and taut on the palate,
tension, well integrated nervy acidity, dry, the tannins are
prominent and ripe. Clear mineral imprint.
