The gloves are off! Chirstian Escher, still
hailed as an ambitous young winemaker
in the past, is now playing at professional
level. He leaves his single-site wines on
the lees until just before bottling while the single-site
reds are bottled without filtration.
Christian Escher has particular skill when it
comes to wood. All his wines show a beautiful
balance, nothing is loud about them. His red
wines, especially, demonstate why Württemberg
wines in general, and Lemberger in particular,
should feature on every wine menu
that wants to be taken seriously. A really
strong performance!

Sauvignon Blanc trocken
Very fragrant scent for a Sauvignon, not overbearing but finely-interlaced
with gooseberry, ripe pear and light woody
notes. Nicely balanced on the palate, juicy, dry, good balance
between acidity and structure. A fine Sauvignon example.
12,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €€
On the palate, too, the wine is clearly fruit-driven with the
finely-integrated wood.. The very beautiful fruit core still has
a little bit of fat. Presently ideal for fruity-wine drinkers, but

Chardonnay trocken
Fine woody notes on the nose. On the palate, a certain lactic
note, a lot of substance, but at the same time a very piquant
acidity that counteracts the substance. A wine in which the
individual elements can still harmonise. Potential.

Spätburgunder trocken
Quite light-coloured. On the nose red plum, raspberry, leaves
and a hint of boxwood. On the palate there is enormous tension,
high piquancy, acidity and intensity. Just beginning to
show elegance. Also thanks to the fine-grained tannins, a
positive development is guaranteed. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Zweigelt trocken
Intensely plummy fruit, sour cherry and rather cool nuances.

Lemberger trocken
Pithy scents of blackberry, blackcurrant and violet, showing
depth and an ethereal note. Dense, ripe and almost soft
fruit on the palate with perfectly-integrated wood. Despite
the substance, very nice balance and a lot of potential.
