Things are still on the up for Paulinshof:
Oliver Jüngling hones the dynamics of
his wines which thrive on the best steep
slate slopes of the Mittelmosel. We do not have
to introduce you to sites like Brauneberger
Juffer-Sonnenuhr, but even the wines from these
less well known sites like Brauneberger Kammer
or Kestener Paulinshofberg come up
trumps: the tiny 380 square meter Kammer,
brings forth a “Grosses Gewächs” that transforms
the ripeness of the grapes into body and
length. Thomas Jefferson on his European travels
in 1788 already tasted and praised these
wines: “first quality, without any comparison.”

Riesling Spätlese trocken
Spicy and slightly balsamic notes on the nose. Very dense on
the palate, terpenic extract, ripe acidity, all components tightly
interwoven; a powerful yet nuanced wine. The sweet fruit of
the Spätlese Prädikat shows on the finish. 12,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Kammer Riesling trocken
Citrus and yellow fruit aromas with a hint of overripe fruit.
Powerful, full and slightly creamy on the palate, ripe acidity,
restrained sweetness, very discreet despite its power. Incredibly
homogeneous on the very long, slightly raisiny finish.

Elegant with a slight iodine scent and hint of warm fur, also
white flowers like jasmine and white honey. On the palate this
oceanic impression continues, appetising sweetness and fine
acidity, juicy and at the same time with a plump mouthfeel. A
wonderful length, delicate astringency. 9 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Cool fragrant nose, first roses, then white berries and young
apples and a hint of caramelised sugar. On the palate the fine
sweetness pairs perfectly with the crunchy, long lasting
fresh acidity. Immensely juicy mouthfeel with delicious fullness
and freshness. 9,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€
