This site of Devonian slate of almost
6ha/15 acres is a monopole of Weingut
Toni Jost. Its knoll stretches from the river
Rhine into a smaller, lateral valley. The
Rhine-facing parcels have an east-southeastern
aspect but most of the site faces
south and southeast. It rises from
80-210m/262-688ft with inclines between
55-70%. Due to its stoniness and shallow
topsoils, drip irrigation systems have been
installed.

BOPPARD | HAMM
Hamm is not only a vineyard but also a
district of Boppard. This majestic site is
divided into the parcels of Feuerlay,
Ohlenberg, Engelstein, Mandelstein and
Fässerlay.The subsoil is Devonian slate
throughout, it is only the topsoil that varies
from weathered shale of grey, green and
red colour to deep, calcareous loam.
Pumice and quartzite also occur.
