Present fruit on the nose. Some tangerine, also tropical fruit
hints, red-green fruit and a hint of spice. Dense on the palate,
but fresh and lively. Juicy, concentrated, then grippy and
mineral, becoming more focused with a lively acidic structure

The father-daughter team formed by Cecilia
and Peter Jost – the sixth and fifth
generation at this estate, respectively –
runs like clockwork. Crystalline in expression,
intense in extract but also fine-boned in style –
that is what the wines are like and what we
have learned to expect from this cellar. And indeed,
the wines presented this year do not disappoint.
Even without the Grosses Gewächs
and the Spatburgunder, all the wines we tasted
scored top marks. Where else would you get
that much Riesling for your money in this midprice
segment? Just think of “Jodokus” or
“Devon S”!

Mineral, clear, yet also deep. Citrus notes, a hint of light
peach, a notion of delicate blossoms followed by stone and
some herbaceous scents. Clear on the palate, then delicatelyconcentrated
sweet citrus fruit, stony minerality and fresh
juiciness. Becomes increasingly salty and finely-juicy towards

Ripe red apple on the nose, lean and fresh on the palate, given
the juicy vintage acidity, the sweetness interplay remains
restrained. However, its texture gives the wine excellent potential.

93 2019 Bacharach Riesling Auslese
Yellow fruit, fine honey notes and hints of light blossoms.
Stone fruit on the palate, creamy and intergrated, with delicate
but firm, citric acidity. A wine with a lively, animating ray
of acidity in the middle. An immensely stylish Auslese.

A rich, juicy nose, yellow-green fruit and a hint of spice.
Full-bodied on the palate without heaviness. Animating
with a lot of freshness and lively, finely-salty acidity. Berry
notes, fresh pome fruit, some tart herbs and ripe citrus
fruit. Great drinking pleasure! 13 Vol.-%, screwcap, €
