The wines of Weingut Knab have always
been good. However, it is a real joy to
witness how Johannes Rinker has continued
to make an even stronger mark ever
since he returned to Endingen in 2016 to take
the reins in the cellar, after graduating and
working abroad. Both white and red Burgundies
have gained in tension, intensity and finesse.
In the warm subregion of the Kaiserstuhl
they show cool minerality, like the Weissburgunder
Wihlbach and Grauburgunder
Steinhalde. These are wines which, just like the
exquisite Spätburgunder, can age for a long
time. Things here are continuously on the up!

Weissburgunder *** trocken
Medium lemon yellow. Very clear and fine scent of honeysuckle,
white peach and lemon peel. These aromas, also tomato
, are beautifully integrated by fine acidity. In the long
finish, discreet woodiness and minerality blend in very well.

Defined scent of violets, elderflower, yellow peach and lemon.
On the palate also flavours of walnut and redcurrants. All
balanced by very fine acidity. A very long finish develops from
light phenolic and mineral notes. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Dark cherry, blackberry, blueberry and clove on the nose. On
the palate there is drive, good acidity and further flavours of
juniper, rose petal and bacon. Ripe tannin, fine finish and
structure give potential. Significant finish.

Medium ruby. Precise scent of black cherry, ripe red cherry,
cedar and smoke. On the palate a medium weight body, lively

Weissburgunder Kabinett trocken
A pure fragrance of lemon zest, peach and wet stone. On
the palate also flavours of blackcurrant leaf, walnut and
lime. Balanced with fine acidity. The exciting finish adds a
slightly salty note and some smoke. A versatile food wine.
