Things are afoot in Germany’s largest organic
wine estate with its160 hectares of
vineyards. It is run by Gustav Pfaffmann
but in the meantime, the new generation, represented
by Kanupriya and Pawel Hener, are making
their mark. All the wines have a convincing,
natural and almost sensuous nature, they have a
fine balance that avoids extremes or excesses.
The Beerenauslese made from Huxelrebe turned
out exquisitely, the voluminous Chardonnay
shows ageing potential, the Merlot impresses
with fined structure and polished fruit. The Frühburgunder
from the 2018 vintage has aged gracefully.
The estate continues its upward trajectory.

Powerful nose with ripe pineapple and toast aromas; wood
spice, beeswax, pear and papaya. Broad on the palate with
volume and power and flashes of incense. Medium density
with a nice spiciness and juiciness. Opulent Chardonnay that

Huxelrebe Beerenauslese
Rich, clear yellow. Aromas of dried fruits, quince jam, some
blossom honey, sultanas and dried apricot. Textured sweetness
on the palate, blossom honey, candied orange, lively
acidity. Lots of spice, tension and potential. Long and powerful.

im Barrique gereift trocken
Deep rusty red at the rim and showing notes of evolution on
the nose - soy sauce, rosehip, miso and smoked bacon, but
also some primary fruit aromas. On the palate there is nice
presence and good freshness, textured tannins, with light
green tones on the finish. Maturing beautifully.

Blackberry and plum show on the nose along with blueberry
and elderberry. The palate is fruity with accentuated clarity,
a powerful structure, ripe tannins, fine fruit compote and
delicate acid structure. Merlot with an intact balance, very

A Sauvignon Blanc with a restrained and fine-smelling
nose; aromas of grapefruit, mango and redcurrants. On the
palate, slenderly built, juicy, with mild acidity and fine
spice. Clear in expression, light feet on its feet and coherent
in itself. 12,5 Vol.-%, screwcap, €
