The industrious understatement projected
by the headquarters of this Oestich
winery, looking on the placid Friedensplatz
in the village, can also be found in the
wines. They never come across as loud or mercantile
and yet they always manage to bring a
kind of gustatory common sense into the
glasss. The 2019 vintage is no exception, you
can taste that these wines are made with solid
craft. No wonder that the branded wines like
“Geheimrat J” and “Pur” also score well. This
year, the Riesling from the Geisenheimer
Rothenberg site clearly emerges from the
shadows of the other Rüdesheim sites!

Multifaceted. Slightly earthy tones mingle with apple, cider
and some yeast. Then it continues with strong palpable minerality,
penetrating acidity and good concentration. A great
arc of tension, but also with a pleasant delicacy.

Complex bouquet, deep and lively. Many herbs such as chamomile
and lavender are vivid. Gripping and inviting. Mouthwatering,
mineral, still somewhat acidic but very well-harmonised.
Even at this early stage, a great wine.

Trockenbeerenauslese Grosse Lage
Dried pear, panforte on the nose. On the palate there is
creaminess and piercing acidity. The palate shows enormous
concentration, almost painfully extract-rich, pithy acidity, intense
sweetness. Still rather closed, but with immense potential.

Delicious botrytis notes, baked apple, sultana; very nuanced
on the nose. On the palate it is finely-tuned - mineral-salty,
juicy acidity, silky sweetness. A delicious wine that defines itself

Lightweight and elegant on the palate, lively acid backbone,
