This site of once just 3ha/7.4 acres has been
extended to 61.3ha/151 acres. It has south and
south-west-facing parcels but also distinctly
less privileged parts facing northwest. The soils
are equally heterogenous: you will find
different Triassic sandstones, coloured marl
and deep, sandy loams. The best parcels are
situated within an amphitheatre that also
benefits from cold air streams originating in
the nearby Schurwald forest at night.

A flat foothill and one parcel of 30% incline
are just the prelude to the steep terraces that
cover inclines of up to 60%. The terraces
can also be divided in two parts: the
Zuckerberg on the right Neckar bank facing
southwest and the Mühlhäuser Berg
downriver on the left bank facing southeast.
