Sankt Urbans-Hof has one part on the
river Saar, the other on the Mittelmosel.
This lends an extraordinary steadfastness
to this 42-hectare estate – and gives drinkers
the choice between the fruity generosity of,
say a Leiwener Laurentiuslay, and the salty,
tingling nerve of an Ockfener Bockstein. In order
to experience this duality you do not even
need to reach for the most expensive wines –
because even the “Alte Reben” village wine
transmits this wine geography in the most
pleasant fashion. Nik Weis and his team once
again did their very best in 2019.

Beautiful Riesling scent with apricot, peach, floral notes and
a hint of hot stone. The palate shows good substance and elegance,
the elements are in harmony, ripe acidity, clear fruit
and fine minerality with salty nuances. Shows classic Mosel
at a high level. 12,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

A spicy nose, finely underpinned by smoke. Well-built on the
palate with intense, clear fruit expression, generous, with
substance and yet also with elegance. Lots of terroir and very
good development prospects. To lay down, still very young.

Riesling Beerenauslese
Very fine, ripe botrytis on the nose, candied yellow fruit, sultana,
date and a hint of porcini mushroom. On the palate, viscous
with concentrated acidity and powerful extract and
penetrating sweetness. An emphatically rich Beerenauslese,
lush with great potential. 6,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€€

Riesling Auslese
Clear yellow in colour. On the nose ripe fruit with a delicate
mineral thread, sultanas, honey and a hint of dried apricot.
On the palate dense texture, spice, dried fruit with a fine vein
of acidity. Magnificent structure and length, ready for a marathon.

Balsamic nuances followed by red apple, nectarine and
mineral, flinty notes. Rich and round on the palate, the
depth of the old vines is palpable, supple foundation, ripe
acidity, seamlessly melded with the body and a delicate
sweetness. Mineral-tinged finish, elegant!
