Linden blossom and meadow herbs on the nose - nuanced,
but not yet fully developed. On the palate there is great volume,
dense mineral extract, a layer of phenolics. The strong
alcohol is completely countered by substance and acidity.
An iron fist with velvety tendencies.

Discreet woody spice. Supple onset of emphatically textured
evolution, firm acid backbone and peppery terroir notes embrace
drive and tension. The use of wood remains unobtrusive,
the full-bodied and distinctly tart wine gains by its composure.

Light greenish yellow with elegant brioche aromas. Mineral-salty
onset with smoky aromas and fine mousse. Yellow-fruited
notes with added creaminess. Very balanced and

Ripe spice on the nose, roasted sesame and meadow herbs.
On the palate there is some volume, firm acidity, dense extract
and a mineral background. The palate structure still
seems almost indestructibly robust and firm - and has more
years of potential. 13,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €€€
Ferdinand Fürst Castell knows that you
start sweeping a staircase from the top
and, leading by example, forges ahead
with the utmost consistency: from now on the estate
will present one single Grosses Gewächs only,
its Schlossberg-Silvaner. In future, this wine will
be allowed to mature for a full five years before release.
The brilliant 2015 vintage of the wine is a
principal witness when it comes to demonstrating
what a few extra years of maturity can do. We already
look forward to future vintages and acknowledge
both the intellectual foresight and the
flawlessness of the wine range that was presented
across all price points with a fourth star.
