This is the first time Max Geitlinger presents
his wine and immediately turns out
to be a great success. On just two hectares
he grows predominantly Spätburgunder,
Gutedel and Müller-Thurgau – very much in
tune with nature. “My wines are created by the
interaction of tradition and innovation, of passion
and time,” he writes. The carefully hand-harvested
grapes ferment with natural yeast, are given
time to mature and are bottled without filtration.
This way of working resulted in down-toearth
and yet filigree wines with lots of character.
Taste this! The best way to do that is in the Gasthof
Hirschen, which forms part of the estate.

Some dill on the expressive nose, smoke, flowers, stone and
bright fruit, fine apricot, which also reappears on the palate.
Powerful and with good substance, the acidity is well woven in,
skilfully balanced, orange blossom and also vegetal notes present

Orange-tinted pink. Red berry, quince, discreet yeast hints on
the nose. On the palate there is a rather brisk mousse, with
crunchy acidity and a pleasantly low dosage. Hearty and vinous,
medium density, a rosé for easy summer drinking or

Landwein trocken
Powerful, dark and spicy on the nose, black cherry, smoke
and forest floor, also an ethereal tone and mineral hints.
Dense on the palate with a lot of substance and spice, a lot of
concentration, still closed, clear mineral hue, a lot of potential.

Smoky and herbaceous on the nose with delicate, silky
scents of smoked bread and fine herbs. Strong structure on
the palate, present and confident acidity, fine flowing juice,
hard mineral grip, bright cherry, clear signature, clear profile.

90 2018 »Gut&Edel« Gutedel Landwein tr.
Clear spontaneous nose with lots of spice and herbs, some
clove, hop flowers, also cider and yeast. Taut and lean on
the palate, yet also substance, phenolic grip in the middle
of the palate, the acidity is present and well-integrated,
fine astringency in the finish. Beautiful!
