In 2019, Jürgen Andres and his wife
Yvonne have made really fresh and animating
wines. They farm a rather broad
spectrum of grape varieties, from Cabernet
Blanc via Dornfelder to Riesling and Pinot
vareities on their 21 hectares which are fertilised
organically. Andres relies on spontaneous
ferments which lend a striking fruitiness to the
wines. Apart from their “Helden in Gummistiefeln’’
(= heroes in wellies) which has gained
legendary status, we also enjoyed their crunchy
Sauvignon Blanc which offers tons of drinking
pleasure for relatively little money.

Clear, light yellow. On the nose pear, ripe apple and some
quince. Rounded with fully integrated acidity on the palate;
pear again and a certain creaminess, apple peel texture gives
a nice grip. Well-woven structure, ending with a light fruit
note. A good food wine. 12 Vol.-%. screwcap, €

Clear, light yellow. On the nose black currant, citrus and
some freshly cut grass. On the palate invigorating acidity, citrus
flavors, currants, clear and fresh, medium structure and
length. Good with fried fish. 11,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €

Medium, clear yellow. Initially a slightly restrained nose then
ripe citrus fruit, tangerine with nuances of lime and mango.
Invigorating acidity on the palate; fresh and clear with a mineral
pull. Citrus fruit underpin the medium structure and
length, ideal for a picnic. 12,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €

Clear, light yellow. Aromas of fresh blackcurrant, a touch of
tomato leaf, red pepper and a spicy underlay. On the palate
there’s a restrained acidity with fine phenolics and again cassis
and pepper notes. Medium-bodied with a spicy finish.
