Daniel Grossarth presented a small but
convincing range of wines from the
2018 and 2019 vintages for tasting.
The juicy Riesling “S” immediately stands out,
it really does express the terroir of the famous
Kloster Disibodenberg site. But both the
subtly savoury Weissburgunder from 2018
and the off-dry “Sommercreation” of
Gewürztraminer from 2019 show that this
winemaker knows his stuff. Grossarth farms
his eight hectares of vines in steep slopes on
slate soils according to sustainability guidelines.

On the nose juicy tangerine, blossom, apple and citrus fruit
with Reine Claude plum. Slender structure on the palate
with harmonious balance and fine sweetness, juicy and
straightforward with fine spice. Good varietal representative
that not only works on its own but also would complement

medium-bodied wine with a lightness in extract and density,

Off-dry Gewürztraminer that knows exactly which notes to
hit: Rose petals, lychee, papaya and ripe mango determine
the aroma. Slender, clear and transparent on the palate,
well-paced sweetness-acidity interplay, quite delicate, a nice

Besides pear with herbal notes, spices, some allspice and
also floral hints on the nose. Spicy and juicy on the palate
with ripe and spicy acidity and straightforward structure,
good varietal typicity, not too complicated, solid companion

Raspberry and wild strawberry on the nose with rose petals
and red cherry. On the palate juicy and with clear fruit notes
of cherries and wild strawberry. Appealing freshness in a

Riesling trocken
Ripe, exotic fruit of mango, papaya, also bottled peach
and some gooseberry. Slender on the palate with ripe apricot
and exotic saffron. Ripe, juicy acidity moves forward
playfully. Finish shows the terroir of the Disibodenberg.
