Weyer of Weingut Lauermann and
Weyer in Bockenheim presented us
with a multi-faceted and convincing range of
wines. The single-site Rieslings from the Bockenheimer
Heiligenkirche and the Bockenheimer
Kerzenstümmel show substance, complexity
and style, however, the estate wines already
offer real varietal typicity and much
drinking pleasure. The estate’s 17 hectares of
vines are on various soils like clay, limestone
and siltstone which lend differentiation to the
wines. The Pinot wines are just made for the
table and come at very fair prices.

Riesling trocken
Multi-layered bouquet with notes of red apple, stone fruit
and spice, also apple peel, herbs, and a touch of caraway.
Well built and powerful. On the palate there is good substance,
density and complexity, fine phenolic layering, juicy
and ambitious. Will evolve. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Riesling trocken
The nose shows notes of wood ageing, smoke, and fine incense
wafting around apple and yellow fruit. Lean and tightly
built on the palate with well integrated acidity, good extract,
fine phenolics. Riesling with lots of potential.

Weissburgunder trocken
Deep yellow in the glass, smoky and toasty notes from barrique
ageing, notes of mint, pear, mirabelle plum and apple. On
the palate; power and spice against a soft base, good substance
and extract, ripe yellow fruit and apple. Good balance,
will mature. 14 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Riesling trocken
Ripe apple and peach on the nose, yellow flowers and citrus
notes. Powerful structure, juicy on the palate with beautiful
clarity, ripe acidity, apple again on the palate. Fine tannins,
multi-faceted without being too complicated, slightly salty
finish. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Classic Riesling aroma with peach and apricot, also some
apple and fresh mint. Juicy on the palate with good freshness
and balance, ripe acidity and fine fruit sweetness accentuate
this, spicy notes, mineral hints; coherent in itself.
