Vini Grande is the name the Burkheimer
co-operative members have given to their
best wines – they have done so with good
reason. These wines are made from the best grapes
grown across their 108 hectares of vineyards in the
Kaiserstuhl subregion. They were made with substance
and ageing potential in mind and show an
exactly-balanced harmony, like the exquisite
Chardonnay from the Burkheimer Schlossgarten
and the full-bodied, savoury Spätburgunder from
the Burkheimer Feuerberg. The Kabinett wines
show great varietal typicity, while the Scheurebe
Beerenauslese absolutely meets the high standards
expected of the nobly sweet genre. Well done!

Powerful and complex nose with pineapple, pear, ripe apricot,
bay leaf and fine wood spice. Poised on the palate, there
is good substance, full-bodied and rich in extract, well-woven
acidity and maritime notes like oyster. A spicy, good balance,
ageing potential. 14 Vol.-%. cork, €€

Already powerful on the nose with notes of ripe pineapple
and spice. On the palate, broad for a Kabinett, juicy and supple
with a rather leisurely flow, spice and the obvious acidity
provide accents and balance. Citric notes in the finish - exudes

Weissburgunder Kabinett trocken
Ripe apricot and orange zest in the powerful aroma, also citric
notes. Juicy. On the palate there is a balanced acidity accompanied
by ripe yellow fruit which shows texture and spiciness,
shows the potential of Burkheim, good varietal wine.

Scheurebe Beerenauslese
On the nose dried fruits, dates, apricots, hints of blossom
honey, elderberry cordial, quince jelly and blackcurrant jam.
Textured sweetness on the palate, restrained acidity, concentrated
bright fruit, honey sweetness, medium structure
and length, goes well with an almond cake.

Wild berries on the nose, cherry and blackberry, also chocolate
and plum. On the palate there are strong tannins and
lots of extract, substance and density. Not ungenerous
with its charms, ripe acidity, distinctive spice and also
