very strong performance! Martin
Conrad sent us dry and off-dry wines
that convinced us with their silky extract
and calm sense of balance. Conrad
knows how to express the Grand Cru status of
these Brauneberg sites in a delicious fashion.
“Slate,” the winemaker reports, “is the stuff
that gives character to our wines.” The estate
started the conversion to organic farming in
2019 and the wines will be certified organic
from the 2022 vintage onwards. We look forward
to seeing how this estate will evolve.
At this level, a fourth star is rather within
reach.

Riesling trocken
Some wood and ripe, clear yellow fruit, herbs and pungent
mineral undertones. On the palate dense and powerful,
slightly viscous, but also with a firm acidic nerve and very
fine phenolics. Overall very mineral, still immensely young.

Tangerine, apple and spicy slate nuances. On the palate silky
and supple, quite plump foundations, viscous, finest phenolics,
ripe acidity fused quite seamlessly with the body, intense
and long-lasting tactile minerality. Subtle fullness.

Intense yellow-fruits, herbaceous with slate notes. On the
palate there is great tension, crunchy, dense, firm acidity,
completely dry and unpretentious. Dense and chewy, almost
astringent, gripping extract. Intense minerality.

Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese
Clear, rich yellow. On the nose piquant spiciness, ripe citrus
fruit, papaya, mango, mineral spiciness. On the palate grippy
acidity, rich fruit extract, orange notes, some light honey,
densely woven, nice length. Elegant and clear, contemplative
