Right now, it is the fourth generation of
this family that has dedicated itself to
viticulture at Weingut Reis & Luff in
the village of Aspisheim in the rolling hills of
Rheinhessen. “Our wines are an expression of
joy. Wine is not complicated. Whatever tastes
good is allowed,” reports Shanna Reis who
took the estate over in 2017 after graduating
from Geisenheim. She is responsible for winemaking
and is supported by her parents and
grandparents. Our favourite is her bone-dry
and mineral Riesling “47 m ü NHN”, named
after the lowest water level measured on the river
Rhine in summer 2018. More of that please!

Green pear on the nose, apple, pear and yellow fruit. Juicy,
spicy and smooth on the palate with a mild acid structure,
uncomplicated and enjoyable, nicely-flavoured with a clear
fruit profile. 12,5 Vol.-%. screwcap, €
87 2019 Riesling Classic Riesling
Fruity scent of Mirabelle and apricot, floral and spicy notes.
Slenderly-built on the palate there is successful sweetness-acidity
interplay, juicy, with clear fruit expression, but
also with spicy accents. Lovely aperitif. 12 Vol.-%. screwcap, €
89 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon
Powerful and spicy nose with blackcurrant, black cherry,
blackberry, tobacco and herbs. On the palate there is beautiful
spiciness, ripe and clearly-highlighted fruit, also with the
necessary freshness, fine tartness ensures liveliness, distinctive
tannins. 13 Vol.-%. screwcap, €

Medium, clear yellow. On the nose beeswax, citrus, dried
fruits, sultanas, some forest floor. On the palate restrained
acidity, concise sweetness, ripe citrus fruit, pear juice, powerful,
medium structure, good length. Has a lot of traction.

Riesling trocken
Ripe passion fruit, apricot, beeswax, some anise, citrus
fruit, papaya, and hints of petrol. Powerful, bold and dry on
the palate, shows the warm year with substance and texture.
The lively acidity provides balance, pronounced minerality.
