Philipp Kiefer landed quite a feat with
his Riesling “Am Guckuckberg” from
the 2019 vintage: it has a full-body and
real mineral backdrop – it also proves how intuitively
and skilfully this winemaker can handle
wood. The Riesling represents the entire
wine range and gives us an idea of what may
be possible here in the future. Philipp Kiefer
has a real talent for wines with structure,
depth and savouriness. His red wines, a Spätburgunder
from 2018 and a Merlot from
2017 are further proof. These are wines with
potential and perspective.

Multi-layered aroma with lime peel, lime oil, apricot and a
mineral timbre. Full-bodied and dense on the palate with
phenolic layering and balanced acidity, well-integrated
wood, firm structure and mineral underpinning. Young and
talented. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€
density and substance, also with aromatic generosity, ripe
fruit, herbaceous spice and sweet extract. Powerful and bold,

Sauvignon Blanc trocken
Discreet woody scent on the nose, also yeast and cassis with
notes of exotic fruit in the background. Spicy start on the palate,
powerful, well-framed structure, some mango as fruit,
ripe and vivid acidity, juice and texture. Good potential, will
continue to grow. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Spätburgunder trocken
Spicy and berryish nose with beautiful Pinot fruit, cherry,
raspberry, smoke, violets and juniper berry. Soft on the palate
with spicy notes. The structure is powerful with ripe acidity
- a wonderful impression of its sense of place.

Blackcurrant and cherry on the nose, spice and smoke, also
plum. Confident on the palate with a powerful structure,

Fruity nose with notes of ripe citrus fruit, grapefruit and
apple. Slenderly built, fruity and juicy on the palate, with
vivid acidity and fine fruit sweetness. Has momentum,
shows elegance, also mineral notes and spiciness. Balanced
