Landesweingut Kloster Pforta underscores
its ambitions with its white wines
from the 2019 vintage and its reds from
2018, up to now we have never tasted a range
of wines of such quality! The team surrounding
manager Bastian Remkes and cellar master
Olaf Stintzing is getting better and better at
exploiting the potential of those 50 hectares of
vineyards along the rivers Saale and Unstrut.
They are turning out wines with profile and
character, especially the “Breitengrad 51”
wines that have become yardsticks of the viticultural
possibilities of the region and the nobly
sweet wines are exquisite too.

Burgundy berry aroma, slightly nutty, fresh wheat grain, but
also Spätlese nuances with yellow fruit and banana. Forward
on the palate with finely-grained phenolics, powerful structure,
sturdy and well-balanced by the ripe acidity. Dense aromatics

Black cherry and prune, some herbs, tar and super ripe dark
berry aromas. Oily base, ripe medium-grained tannins, soft
and voluminous, slightly salty, chalky minerality and good
density. A full-bodied red of real class. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€

Beerenauslese
Rich, clear yellow. On the nose blossom honey and dried fruits:
apricot and date, in addition nuances of roasted almond, papaya.
Textural sweetness on the palate, dense, honey, spice and
exotic fruits. Densely-woven, enormous extract, finishes long

Clear, rich yellow. Overt nose; dried fruits, apricot, sultana,
candied orange peel, lemon balm, honey spice. Dense on the
palate, bergamot, lavender, dried apricot, date. Denselywoven
with a fine vein of acidity, texture and length. Has
