It is a kind of harmonious accessibility that
Ruth, Marcel and Hans-Jörg Befort bring
to their wines in Nittel in the Upper Mosel.
As is traditional for this part of the region, the
Pinot-varieties, just as Riesling, are despatched
with a touch of residual sweetness. The fact that
this rounding out does not have a tiring effect
on the palate is, on the one hand, down to the
Triassic limestone soils that lend inner coolness
and firmness to the wines. On the other hand,
the wines possess an admirable aromatic clarity.
This year we want to draw your attention to
the Spätburgunder “S” which combines ripe
tannins with a rather grown-up savouriness.

Grauer Burgunder trocken
Intense limestone-spiciness on the nose, a little wood influence,
in addition a berryish, ripe varietal fruit with a slight hint of ester.
On the palate there is concentrated acidity, but also with dense
substance and a strong lime-mineral perception followed by a
fitting sweetness at the finish. Very long. 12,5 Vol.-%. DIAM, €
notes. Lively acidity on the palate, spicy and with ripe, vivid
tannins, powerful structure, elegant and also distinctive.

Sauvignon Blanc trocken
A multi-layered, fine spicy nose with notes of cumin, elderflower
and red gooseberry. On the palate quite round and textured,
slightly viscous, fine acidity, quite animating sweetness
and good aromatics. Emphatically mild palate, completely
self-contained. 12 Vol.-%. DIAM, €
91 2018 »S« Nittel Leiterchen
Spätburgunder trocken
Concentrated and spicy nose with ripe cherry, cassis, juniper
berry and hints of oak. A dense Burgundy-like wine with a lot
of spice, fruit and also liveliness, the powerful body is infused
with a ripe acid vein and concise tannins. Still young.

Cabernet Sauvignon trocken
Depicts the character of both grape varieties on the nose:
cassis and cherry, also fine Pinot perfume and woody spice
89 2018 Crémant brut
A complex and intense Pinot fruit, small red berries, peppery
lime aromas and also some tropical fruit, pineapple.
Vivid sweetness, texture and substance in good harmony,
ripe acidity, medium-fine mousse, a full-bodied and harmonious
sparkling wine. 12,5 Vol.-%, DIAM, €€
