Weingut Krieger in Rhodt has made
wine since 1652 and has been run
by Thorsten Krieger since 2001.
His 26 hectares of vineyards are in the Rhodt
sites of Rosengarten, Klosterpfad and Schlossberg,
as well as in the Burrweiler Schäwer and
Edenkobener Bergel. Year after year this winemaker
manages to make wines with his clear
and unmistakeable hallmark. At the top of a
very homogenous range of wines stands his savoury
Merlot “S” from the Rosengarten with
its fine-grained tannins. Likewise, the substantial
and textured Grauburgunder “S” is as impressive
as the juicy Scheurebe.

The ripe pear is accompanied by a vanilla note on the nose;
dried apricot, wood spice and darker aromas such as juniper
berry. Ripe fruit notes on the palate, dried apricot and pear
again, full bodied and with substance, lots of spice and good

Blueberry on the nose, wild blueberry and cherry, also some
mint and cherry yoghurt. Shows the opulence and generosity
of the 2018 vintage with lots of substance, volume and prominent,
ripe tannins. Good tension with enough freshness, well

Spicy and intense nose of blackcurrant, black cherry and
blackberry, wood spice and some seaweed and tar. The intensity
of the nose also shows on the palate with good concentration
and substance, the ripe tannins give structure, grip
and spice. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€
89 2019 Gewürztraminer Auslese
The nose is dominated by rose petals, underlaid with herbs
and some spice. On the palate; peach, apricot and rose water,
restrained acidity, grippy, medium structure. Noticeable

Intense nose of passion fruit, mango, blackcurrant, spice
and fresh grass clippings. Fruity and juicy on the palate
with nice freshness and dynamic acidity. Compact build,
