The vineyards of Weingut Holzapfel are
predominantly in the Neckarsulmer
Scheuerberg where the vines root on
heavy Keuper (marl) soils. The family has been
making wine here since the 17th century and
the estate is run today by Bernhard and Ursula
Holzapfel and their son Silas. All the wines are
at an artisanally-sound level, the rosé with just
the right amount of tannin is a real pleasure,
the Pinot Blanc is elegant and shows clear
fruit, the reds, like the spicy and concentrated
Lemberger, show great potential for bottle
age. More of that please!

Ripe blackberry scents, also smoke, leather and incense followed
by floral notes. Powerful, concentrated and spicy on
the palate, good density, good balance with a fine acid structure.
The tannins are soft and well-integrated, medium
length with fine spiciness. 13 Vol.-%. cork, €€
agile acidity that knows how to accompany the sweet fruit
competently. Nice aperitif and also with desserts, playful varietal

Clear fruit expression on the nose, stone fruit, pear, apple,
melon, citrus fruit and elderflower. Smooth on the palate
with a sweet extract and fine spice, some allspice nuances;
finely-balanced, mild acidic structure. Elegant and juicy

Fruity and white floral aromas, yellow fruit, mirabelle plums,
apple and floral notes. Fruity on the palate with a ripe and
lively acidity structure, shows texture, clarity and drinking
pleasure. Fine spiciness with good phenolics. Beautiful, pairs
