Within the space of a few short years,
the labels of this Sekt estate in Bensheim
have become a real promise
that prompts most pleasant sensations of anticipation
in connoisseurs of Sekt. This unusual
ascent is certainly down to lots of hard work
and also a good portion of entrepreneurial vision
– but it would not have been possible
without the sensitivity that is expressed in the
balance of all the cuvées. The German Sparkling
world is decidedly richer with the existence
of the sophisticated sparkling Riesling
that is the 2013 Réserve –“Dosage Zéro” – to
name just one wine. This is the way to go!

Complex on the nose. Fine spice, herbs, some yellow fruit,
citrus notes, light tobacco leaves. Complex and focused at
the same time. Concentrated fruit, citrus and tart nuances,
some zest and stone fruit. Unique style with wonderfully taut
and finely salty acidity. 12,5 Vol.-%, cork, €€€€

Complex and nuanced with hints of black fruit, spice and
notes of apple. Fine yeast and minerality. Elegant, powerful
and full on the palate. Concentrated fruit, wonderfully focused,
juicy and citrusy with crunchy acidity.

91 2016 »Chardonnay Prestige« brut nature
Balance and depth in the bouquet. Nuanced, yet at the same
time there is a certain power and concentration with fine
spiciness and minerality. Apple, citrus fruit. On the palate a
lively acid structure, a rather fine mousse with juiciness and
tartness. 12 Vol.-%, cork, €€€

Fine complexity and spiciness on the nose. Notes of rosehip,
apple, some herbs. Juicy on the palate with a crunchy acid
structure, slightly drying, beautiful phenolic in the middle.
Citrusy, finely spicy, captivating, complex. Great!

92 2017 Griesel & Co Tradition Riesling brut
The nose is fragrant, fine and complex: flowers, quince, apple,
pear, meadow herbs, brioche. Spicy on the palate with
concentrated bright fruit, juicy apple. Acidic traction and
mineral saltiness that are more pronounced in the finish.
