Eva and Matthias Seyler are the fourth
generation of their family to run the Dengler-Seyler
estate with its 15 hectares of
vineyards. Since 2018, they have had an organic
vineyard with a concentrated focus on Riesling
and the Pinot varieties which count for more
than 80% of plantings. There’s also some
Muskateller, Scheurebe and Gewürztraminer.
“The fact that everything is done by hand, from
pruning to harvesting, is a key element of our
work,” the couple reports. We tasted a range of
wines with characterful Rieslings, a concentrated
Spätburgunder and a really enjoyable Muskateller.
All in all, most successful!

Riesling trocken
Spicy and floral hints on the nose, apple and plum, warm
stone and thyme. On the palate there is good balance and
complexity; the elements are well integrated. Juicy, ripe
acidity, and texture have clearly defined proportions. Elegant.

Spätburgunder trocken
Sweet cherry and floral notes on the nose are followed by violets,
fine spice, candied orange peel, a touch of smoke. Powerfully
built; a dense Pinot with extract and concentration,
juice, spice and also elegance. Well integrated wood, finely
balanced with plenty of substance to allow for further maturity.

Weissburgunder trocken
Initially ripe citrus fruit, mango and mirabelle on the nose,
later toasted aromas and vanilla. Strong and firm structure
on the palate, ripe acidity, sweet extract, good substance and
weight, multi-layered and rich. Good ageing potential.

Riesling trocken
Peach and apricot on the classic nose with apple and spice,
hints of stone. Soft and juicy on the palate initially with finely
chiselled acidity. Powerfully built, pure, sweet fruit, elegant
and supple. Fine, classic style, good length.

Fruity nose showing a blade of mace and nutmeg, apricot
and passion fruit. A buoyant and cheerful palate of slender
construction; ripe fruit with fine sweetness combines with
fresh acidity. Clear and pure in expression. For summer afternoons
or as an aperitif. 11,5 Vol.-%, screwcap, €
