There is much movement at the Wöhrwag
estate: son Philipp now works in
the Pfalz but in his place daughter Johanna
is now on board. She describes her field
of influence thus: “I learned a lot at various
wine estates and now I am regaling my father
with innovative ideas – from the cellar to the
top vineyard sites. Calm was yesterday.” However,
with parents like Christin and Hans-Peter
Wöhrwag, imagination and lateral thinking
come naturally. We tasted a strong range of
wines, including the complex red wine blend
“X”, the grippy Cabernet Franc and elegant,
expressive white wines.

Powerful aroma of toasted nuances, ripe mirabelle plum, citrus
fruit, almond and yellow blossom. On the palate,
full-bodied and firmly-built with texture, good density and
well-integrated alcohol. A wine vinified for substance and
longevity with charm. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€
dark sweetish fruit, nice spiciness with peppery notes. Good
amount of lively tannins. Young, talented and with perspective.

Intense nose of green bell peppers and tropical fruit, papaya
and mango, plus gooseberry and tomato leaf notes. On the
palate defined and intense fruit, elegant and juicy, also pleasant
minerality. A good bundling with slender contours. Persistent

Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Powerful, spicy nose with cassis and blackberry, fine spicy
wood notes and a hint of black tea. On the palate there is
good substance and volume, shows density, complexity and
depth. Distinctive tannins, great potential.
