The Dukes of Württemberg have cultivated
vines since the 13the century – no wonder
that Michael Herzog von Württemberg
can avail himself of vineyard sites in almost all of
Württemberg’s subregions – from valley of the
Rems to that of the Neckar. The ‘Ducissa’, thus
turns out in a style that befits her ducal status:
clothed in noble texture, she combines a down-toearth
nature (i.e. Lemberger) with cosmopolitan
spirit (i.e. Merlot and Cabernet) and combines inner
strength with grace. The entry-level wines,
like the Sauvignon Blanc, are a little less complex,
but when it comes to poise and drinking pleasure
they play in the same league as the top wines.
weight in the extract but well-defined mineral components.
expression. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€
finish. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€
92 2018 Untertürkheim Mönchberg
Lemberger GG
Coffee and nougat on the nose (from the wood), in addition
slightly peppery and minty aromas and a dash of cherry.
Dense on the palate, fine-grained to sandy tannins, accompanied
by good acidity and chalky mineral tones. Good stature,
good length. 13,5 Vol.-%. cork, €€€
90 2018 Mundelsheim Käsberg Syrah trocken
Smoky new wood, plus Syrah spicy notes from dried meat to
dark chocolate and sultana with a whiff of Amarena cherry.
Soft and supple on the palate, almost expansive, but then
rather medium in extract and intensity of fruit. A soft varietal
90 2019 Sauvignon Blanc trocken
Fresh fruity scents, grapefruit, lime, kiwi and a hint of bell
pepper. On the palate rather light in extract with a
